What We Do?

Actua's mission is to provide young Canadians with positive hands-on learning experiences in science and technology. By stimulating young people's natural curiosity, we help them develop self confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills – and inspire them to become learners for life.

Actua's strength is the size of our national reach and geographic footprint – we deliver extra-curricular science, engineering, and technology programming to over 225,000 youth in over 375 communities from coast to coast to coast.

Actua's niche and area we invest most heavily – is accessibility. We have become the national leader in the delivery of customized science, and technology programming for underserved and underrepresented youth audiences.

Actua's focus is on the delivery of relevant, high quality and innovative program content – addressing current challenges and innovations in science and technology.

Actua's impact is demonstrated through extensive research which shows we are creating positive and significant changes in the attitudes and behaviours of young children toward science and technology.

Actua's ability to deliver is what sets us apart – We are fortunate to have the support of many leading companies as well as several government funding sources and foundations.
